1) Who We Are
CoRide Inc. (“CoRide”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides ride-hailing technology and related services in Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information across our Platform. Use of the Platform is also governed by our Terms of Service.
We follow the principles of Canada’s PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws.
2) Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account: name, email, phone number, password, preferred language, profile photo, saved addresses.
- Payments & Wallet: card or bank details handled by Stripe, wallet balance and payouts, receipts, and transaction metadata.
- Support & feedback: messages, attachments, ratings, and reviews you submit.
- Driver applicants & Drivers: legal name, DOB, photo, address, driver’s licence, vehicle details, insurance, permits, background-check identifiers, banking and tax details, and other documents required by law.
- Emergency/SOS contacts (optional): if you choose to add them, we store the names and numbers you select.
2.2 Information created when you use the Platform
- Location: precise device location (e.g., GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
- Riders: from request to trip end (and as needed for loss/safety/incident investigations).
- Drivers: while online/available and briefly after going offline to finalize trip records and detect incidents.
- Trips: pickup and drop-off, route, distance, timestamps, fares, tips, cancellations, promotions used.
- Usage: screens viewed, actions taken, date/time, referring pages, and feature interactions.
2.3 Device & network information
- Device model, OS/app version, unique identifiers, IP address, carrier, push tokens, crash logs, and limited mobile sensor data (e.g., speed/acceleration for safety features).
2.4 Information from partners/third parties
- Identity & screening: identity verification and background-check providers (as permitted by law).
- Payments: Stripe for payments, payouts, antifraud, and compliance.
- Mapping & navigation, telephony/SMS, analytics, customer support, cloud hosting: to enable core Platform functions and improve reliability and safety.
- Insurance & safety partners: to arrange coverage and manage incidents, investigations, and claims.
- Business/concierge accounts and referral programs: organizations or individuals may provide your details to book/pay for trips and for reporting.
3) How We Use Personal Information
