Introduction

By using CoRide’s app or services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. CoRide is proudly Canadian and 100% user‑owned — profits stay within the community.

Privacy Policy Overview

CoRide collects only what’s necessary to provide safe and efficient rides:

  • Account details: name, phone, email
  • Ride data: locations, trip history
  • Driver data (if applicable): license, insurance, vehicle info
  • Payment info: securely processed via Stripe (CoRide never stores full card details)
  • Technical data: device, IP, app usage for support and security

We share limited data only with trusted partners:

  • Autocab – ride dispatch and booking
  • Stripe – secure payment processing
  • Insurance companies – for coverage and claims
  • Legal authorities – when required by law

Data Security & Cyber Protection

We use encryption, secure servers, and strict access controls to protect personal data. Stripe is PCI‑DSS Level 1 compliant, and Autocab uses robust security protocols to safeguard booking information. We never sell personal data.

Driver Screening & Safety

Every driver must pass:

  • Vulnerable sector background check (3‑part screening)
  • Driver abstract (clean driving record)
  • Valid license, registration, and vehicle insurance
  • Vehicle safety inspections and compliance with provincial standards

Terms of Service

Using CoRide means you agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration and payment info
  • Use the platform lawfully (no unauthorized access or misuse)
  • Accept that all payments are electronic only via Stripe — no cash payments are allowed
  • Review fare estimates shown in-app before booking
  • Be responsible for safeguarding your login credentials

Refund & Cancellation Policy

  • Trips cancelled by passengers after driver dispatch will incur a $5 cancellation fee.
  • No refund is issued for completed trips — charges are processed after ride completion.
  • Refunds are only applicable for duplicate charges or verified service errors (processed within 5–10 business days).
  • Disputes must be submitted via admin@coride.ca with trip details and reason.

Ontario Platform Worker Protections

CoRide complies with the Ontario Digital Platform Workers Rights Act:

  • Minimum wage guaranteed for active time (ride acceptance to drop-off)
  • Detailed earnings and trip breakdowns available in-app
  • Clear distinction between active time and waiting (online) time
  • Transparent payout structure — payments processed bi-weekly

Passenger Insurance

All active rides (from acceptance to drop-off) are covered by commercial liability and accident insurance meeting or exceeding provincial requirements.

Electronic Communications

By using CoRide, you consent to receive notifications via email, push notifications, or in-app messages related to your rides, updates, and promotions.

Changes to Policy

We may update this document to reflect new features or regulations. Significant updates will be shared via email or app notifications.
